To ensure consistency, once a number is assigned to a quote or an invoice, its appearance is automatically frozen.

  1. Go to your document

  2. Assign a number

  3. From that moment, the header, footer and style will no longer be affected by future changes in your settings.

Another use case:

Within your document, by clicking on the header or footer areas, you can choose to manually freeze the appearance — either before assigning a number or for an older document that already has one.

If you later modify the header, footer or style in your settings and want to apply the new layout to a frozen document, you can update it at any time by clicking on the header or footer area in the document 👍

Our recommendations:

  • Old documents are not frozen by default, but you can freeze them if needed.

  • This update ensures your documents remain consistent over time — while keeping the flexibility you need.
